This depiction appears to be right after the hotel was built as there still appears to be construction debris in the front. The card has a 1919 Yosemite postmark and comments indicate that they lunched at the hotel and are going into the Valley and Camp Curry. A nice piece of Yosemite history. The Glacier Point Hotel was a historic 80-room chalet-style hotel built on the grounds of Glacier Point overlooking Yosemite Valley, California, adjacent to the McCauley Mountain House. It was known as the venue for the Yosemite Firefall spectacle. The hotel opened in 1918, and was taken over by the Yosemite Park & Curry Company in 1924. The building was severely damaged by snowfall in winter 1968-69, and was still empty when it was destroyed in a fire in July 1969. The card measures approximately 3.5" X 5.5" overall, shipping weight approximately 3 ounces. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS - The postcard is in overall Good used condition, some signs of wear, rubbing, soiling, age toning, fading, writing on back, no odors, please see images.
