Description: Bavarian Model 1898/05 Sword Bayonet for Kar 98 and Gewehr 98 Rifles. 19.75" overall length with a blade length of 14.5" blade, blade overall is excellent with 90% original blued finish, left side of blade edge show two tiny nicks/dings by front area, guard shows a serial no. on one side, ricasso marked, "FICHTEL & SACHS SCHWEINFURT". Top of blade/spine marked with cyphers along with date of 1918. Pommel end, left side has two cyphers also. Excellent working press-stud. Scabbard still shows some original bluing with a age brown patina, wear, use, the back area is stamped, "55" by the top area.
