Description: Vintage Watt Pottery refrigerator pitcher with ice lip, Apple 69. Farmhouse style. Two-leaf "Apple" Pattern was made 1952 – 1965 and is discontinued. Perfect for serving iced tea or lemonade on a hot summer day, this pitcher is both functional and decorative. In the 1930s, Watt introduced a line of kitchenware designed to withstand high oven temperatures. The Ohio company was formed in 1921, making stoneware butter churns, crocks, jugs, mixing bowls, preserve jars, and other utilitarian wares. Watt Pottery was not evenly distributed—50 percent of the company’s products were sold in New York and New England, 25 percent in the greater Chicago area, a small amount distributed by Safeway in the Southern and Western states, and the balance sold in the Midwest and NortheastHallmarks: Impressed "USA ~ 69" in concentric circles Dimensions: 8" Tall x 9” Long (spout to handle) x 6” Wide. Base diameter is 4". Condition: Very good giftable condition. Mentionable issues: 1) visible crazing, predominantly on base, without discoloration, and 2) small glaze loss around spout tip (see last photo). Otherwise, paint and glaze intact with good color and without scratches or erosion. No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Don't feel anything amiss when I run finger around edges. No signs of previous repair or restoration. Unpacked weight: 2 lbs. 1.4 oz. Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping. I only charge actual postage, and always use recycled packing materials. Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles. On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views. I gladly accept returns, but please note I do not pay return postage unless there was a significant error in my description. The item listed is being sold as is, as pictured and as described to the best of my knowledge. All dimensions and weights approximate. If you have a question or an assumption on an item prior to purchase, please ask. I much prefer to take the time on the front end to make sure you will be satisfied with your purchase. Remember, when buying vintage expect imperfections as these items have a history and have been in the possession of others. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
