Did not dissassemble the baby carrier. Mother's arms can move forward and back and she can sit or stand. Head is fixed. Black hard is a very thin, almost like embroidery yarn. Mother's shoes are carefully handmade with hardened sole with cotton fabric covering and red and green trim. This is a beautiful and unusual set. The faces are handpainted and mother's lips and eyes have a plastic type paint as do baby's. Baby has a super cute top knot hairdo. Mother and baby hands a wonderfully stitched as are baby's toes.
