Vtg 1960s Raggedy Ann Doll 18" Teach and Play w/ Outfit and Shoes HTF

Description: This is a scarce and very cute vintage 1960s Knickerbocker Raggedy Ann Teach and Play Doll approx. 18” tall x 6” wide at the head, with brightly colored floral cotton dress, lace-up long-johns in white cotton, white cotton apron with zipper compartment in same fabric as dress and with two white enameled metal snaps at the straps, blue ribbon tie, and black buckle leather-like shoes. The iconic heart with the words "I Love You" can be found on the right side of the doll’s chest. Red yarn hair is intact in front, head is bare in back, which looks to be the original hair state. Tag is on the apron and reads Knickerbocker Toy Company, Joy of the Toy — placing it among the the earliest Knickerbocker Raggedy Ann dolls. We estimate 1965. The doll’s design was meant to teach a child to tie bows, and to use buttons, zippers, snaps and buckles. Please note that it is now intended for collectors and gentle display, and may not withstand play.Doll is in good vintage used condition with normal age-related wear and water stains and grime on face, torso and limbs. There’s a small break in the seam on the left top foot at the shoe. Apparel is (delightfully) thinning and the whites are yellowing here and there. There are no snags, holes or tears in the dress. Apron has red color transfer along its zipper as if it was once laundered and it is yellowing in back as well as thinning. Elastic has disintegrated on smocking and pant legs. All apparel is clean and soft. The buttons are intact on dress. Purple bow ribbon at neck is faded and may not be the original length. No foul odors.
