Description: This is probably one of the best sounding Vox Pacemakers around. A cool example of the first tube version, this amp is essentially a blend of a Vox and a Fender in a 1x10 combo. This particular one has been fully recapped, with a replacement Celestion G10 Gold speaker and sounds absolutely amazing. Condition wise, the amp has some wear and tear, with a replacement grille cloth/piping. All original parts (including the original knobs) are included. The circuit has been gone through, recapped and the wiring cleaned up and a three prong plug installed. It has also had a couple resistors and capacitors and one pot changed. The third input is now a “Tone Cut/Master Volume” control, wired in reverse like JMI, with the old ground switch on the back wired as a selection between the two. These amps supposedly are a “modified Vox top boost” circuit, but in reality are almost entirely different. This particular one has had some “JMI” mods, changing some resistors and capacitors in key spots in the circuit to make it behave a bit more like a JMI Vox amp, while retaining its own character. One of these mods being the Top Cut control, a key to the classic Vox sound. A detailed schematic will be sent to the buyer, and none of these changes are non-reversible. The tubes are all vintage. Preamp tube is a Tungsram 12AX7, Phase inverter/vibrato is a Amperex 12AX7, rectifier is an RCA EZ81, and power tubes are Tungsram EL84’s. Includes a black padded cover. This amp will be packed WELL and tubes removed and packed separately to avoid damage.
