Description: Vintage Zuni Multistone Inlay Pin Sterling Apache Crown Dancer Native American This is a marvelous example of a multi-stone inlay Apache Crown Dancer (also referred to as a Ga'an or Gaun Dancer) pin. The artist used jet as one of the main pieces, plus mother of pearl, turquoise, abalone, and spiny oyster shell and set them in place with a channel inlay technique to create the figure. The mother of pearl piece for the sash is raised above the top of the rest of the inlay to create a 3D effect. The two Apache crosses are all sterling silver. Please see the description of condition. The pin is about 2" wide and 3 1/8" tall. It weighs 17.7 g. While the pin is not signed, it has clearly been crafted in the classic Zuni inlay style. Touch of Turquoise invites you to Wear the West!
