Description: This is a highly specialized vintage rosary. It is circa 1940. The beads are crafted of crushed rose petals. A faint scent of roses remains. All the beads are the same size, about 6-7mm. The crucifix is a veneer inlay, golden-yellow in color. I'm not certain what metal is used on the crucifix. It has some weight to it. As best I can weigh without detaching it, it is 5.5 grams. On the front of the crucifix, at the bottom is a relic of St. Therese, the Little Flower. It appears to be a piece of cloth. On reverse of the crucifix is marked Reliquia S. Teresa. N.J. At the bottom of the crucifix, on reverse is a small relief of St. Therese, the Little Flower. There is a maker's mark on reverse of the centerpiece. The mark is difficult to read, and I am not familiar with it. There is a photo of the mark. The centerpiece feels like and has the appearance of perhaps a thick gauge galvanized metal. The links in the chain also have the appearance of a galvanized metal. The rosary's overall length is 18.5". The length of the crucifix including the bale (crafted in) is 1.75". The crucifix weighs (as best I can determine) 5.5 grams. The rosary's overall weight is 23.0 grams. The rosary is 100% complete with all the original beads. All the parts on this vintage rosary appear to be original. (The one exception may be the small hanging ring that attaches the crucifix to the drop.) Free shipping.
