Necklace shows wear and age. There are metal beads near the clasp that are rusted from salt exposure. The shell beads have the feel of wear and salt exposure also. It has been tucked away unworn in storage at least 10 years and was already vintage/pre-owned before then. I like the authentic worn-in feel of the beads -- if I had to guess; I'd say it's from the late 1980's originally. It can be worn as-is or you can clean/polish the beads. It doesn't show any weakness in the cord but due to the age, if you intend to wear it surfing -- you may want to restring it. Wear: Slight signs of wear are considered typical for authentic vintage pieces, such as light surface scratches or patina.
