Vintage Mid Century Lightolier Louver Shutter Desk Lamp Table Light Thurston

Description: Interesting Lightolier desk lamp with brass supports, brass louvers, and thick laminate plastic for shade. I have seen a few other ones and they are attributed to Gerald Thurston, but I do not know that positively. Base is heavy black metal. It casts a really nice warm light. You can position louvers in only two positions, there is no way to vary the opening. The bulb is a tubular one, that I will include. It has a single socket pull chain switch. Dimensions: 12" tall by 12" wide (including support poles) Shade alone is 11" wide and 4.5" deep. The base is 9" by 4.5". Condition: All original condition, with some signs of age related wear. The base is in very good shape, no big scratches or scrapes. The side support poles have some patina from age, but not dramatic. The backside of the inside of the shade is covered in a reflective silver paper. Toward bottom of shade it is torn off. Does not show unless you have your head under the shade and easy fix with some silver sticky paper. The shade has no dings or dents, but does have a scratch down the left side front edge (see pic), and some light edge wear. Easy to repaint just shade if you prefer perfection. Brass louvers look good, shiny and fairly clean. The back of the lamp has a heavy black vinyl? covering over the rectangle. Its slightly off kilter and a tiny sliver of black shows over back edge of shade. An Exacto knife would shave it off. I declined because I would most likely cut giant hole in shade doing it.... It shows very well. I thought the shade was metal for years until I tested with a magnet and realized it was a thick laminate, very well done.
