Description: Vintage MEXICAN FOLK ART - WOVEN STRAW CRUCIFIX with CHRIST ON a WOODEN CROSS; 13 1/2"; Preowned In 1980 we traveled with our 2 young girls (10 & 12) through much of Mexico. Our Truck/Camper broke down near the small town of Compostela, Nayarit, Mexico. While spending a few days and having the truck repaired we were able to wander the street markets and meet the merchants. An elder offered this crucifix to us and we've cherished it to this day. Now, in our Senior years - it's time to begin downsizing and so I'm offering this treasure to you. This was Hand Crafted in this small town in Mexico. The crucifix is woven in straw and affixed to a wooden cross. Christ's crown of thorns is removable. The crucifix measures 13 1/2" tall Good condition. Comes from non smoking home.
