I have built these using the best of the best vintage parts and style to give you the compact FAT and Lush tones from the Vintage Original Triad A9J Input Transformer! This is the exact same brand as the Motown DI Boxes. The A9J transformer and the A10j and A11J are all the same basically with slightly different impedances. I built one with all three and tested it with bass and guitar and each one sounds exactly the same. Guitars and basses output impedances are usually in the 5,000-10,000 Ohm range. These famous input transformers the model A9j through the A11j have impedance from 50,000-65,000 ohms down to 250 ohm which plugs your guitar into a microphone preamp just like James Jamerson had his bass hooked up into the tube console. Since the transformers impedance is higher than guitars and basses it also works great with keyboards and anything else! These transformers have such a lush woody tone and are high fidelity at 30hz-15k! IF you hit them hard with signal they will breakup nicely too!
