Description: Vintage HO Scale 0-6-0 Locomotive Kleinbahn Kuhlwagen Cold Car Shell Tanker Set Recently, I acquired a small collection of locomotives, tracks and parts from another collector. As I sifted through the collection for the pieces I wanted for my collection: Steam Locomotives, I found that he included a number of various diesel locomotives in various states of condition. Due to my lack of knowledge regarding diesel locomotives, I decided to inspect them and sell them to those whose interest are more centered on the more modern diesel-style locomotives. From what I was able to find, two of these cars were designed by Kleinbahn, a West German company who sold model trains starting in 1947. One is a Kuhlswagen Refrigerator car, and the other is a Shell brand tanker car. They are both made out of tin or similar pressed metal with plastic attachments. The locomotive which appeared to match with the cars was a plastic shell 0-6-0 steam locomotive. Initial inspection of this locomotive led me to believe that it was just a toy, only for display. The wheels moved easily and there didn't appear to be a low of wiring or mechanical pieces inside the body (that I could see). On the front boiler plate were the markings of what appeared to be a Mercedes emblem with the numbers: 80 026 beneath it. Along the side beneath the engineering cabin where the markings: DG 80 026. Finally, on the rear of the locomotive were the markings: GFF and beneath that was: Made in Western Germany, which COULD be Kleinbahn. However, despite checking over the entire surface of the train, I could not find any other markings to confirm this. Imagine my surprise when I placed the 'toy' train on track and, when I powered it up, it moved! Granted, it was loud, which leads me to believe it needs to be lubricated, but it moved around the track freely (see video attached). I even linked it with the two cars and it pulled them around the track without any effort. The Shell tanker car came loose, so I had the locomotive come around and push it back to my side of the track. So it has been tested and it functions. The two cars are in great condition considering their age and being made of metal. Neither car appears to be scratched or dented in any way. Overall, for any model railroad enthusiast, they are an interesting addition to a collection. I did not add any lubricant to the gears, since I am not as familiar with this locomotive and I didn't want to damage it. Shipping will be via US Ground Advantage to keep costs down. Good Luck!
