Description: This vintage cast iron flat iron was made by Chicago Hardware Foundry as indicated by the 7 surrounded by a diamond. It weighs approximately 6 pounds 12 ounces. At one time it was probably covered by some kind of paint or coating. Some of this is still on the iron. It was dipped in lye, cleaned as best as possible, and wiped with coconut oil.
