Vintage "Brushed Chrome" Super Record Titanium DEROSA Racing Bicycle NOS

Description: Time capsule from MILANO SPORT in Greenwich, Ct. U.S.A. This frame was procured from Gita Sporting Goods in the spring of 1983. It is one of three Derosa frames to come to the United States with a "brushed chrome" finish which is not paint but a special chrome process. At this juncture Ugo Derosa was still building frames in the basement of his house in Paderno Dugnano long before he moved to his much larger headquarters at Via Bellini in Cusano Milanino. Consequently his output was quite small. This frame is constructed of first generation Columbus SLX and at the time his new investment cast lug set which featured the chain stay bridge incorporated into the bottom bracket shell. The frame measures 53 cm. center to center with a 54 cm. top tube. The gruppo was in storage as well and is full Campagnolo Super Record Titanium (pedal and bottom bracket spindles). The bar and stem are period correct 3T (Record 78 pantographed stem and Tour de France 42 cm. bars) with Almarc leather covering in lieu of standard handlebar tape. Toe clips are Christophe with Binda Extra leather straps. Rims are 36 drill MAVIC team issue SSC Blues with Vittoria tubulars. NOTE: chain pictured is a new Regina Record S chrome plated but freewheel will be replaced with a virgin ORO block, 13x21 teeth. Gum rubber hoods on the brake levers are virgin as are all other parts which were just mounted on May 1, 2020. Zero miles on this bike. Cranks are 170 mm. with 42/53 chain rings and stem length is 10.5 cm. Freight listed is for Continental USA only; more elsewhere by quotation.
