Description: Vintage Brown & Sharpe #570 13" vernier slide caliper in good condition. Instrument includes original velvet-lined wood case. Caliper shows normal wear (light scratches/scuffs/etc). No engraved initials or similar markings. Tool is very well built and is one of the heavier duty calipers for its size that I've seen. All adjustment screws & mechanisms are intact and operate smoothly. No damage or deformities. No excessive grease residue. I applied a very light coating of machine oil to the slide & screw threads. Excess was wiped off. Tool includes original wooden case. Case is solid and intact. Both thumb latches work. Hinges all function properly. Box has a small strip of wood missing from one end. The missing piece looks like it could be easily fabricated and repaired. Case shows considerable surface wear, but is free of damage. Wood has a nice patina and distressed appearance. Velvet lining is mostly intact, but does have a few threadbare spots & nicks. Lining is a bit dusty/dirty. No large stains or heavy soil. Case has hand painted labeling at both ends. Tool is guaranteed to arrive in described condition. Please inspect & test upon receiving and notify me directly if there are any issues.
