Description: Up for auction is this 1930s Vintage Bell & Howell Filmo Sportster Double Run Eight 8mm Movie Camera This vintage Bell and Howell Filmo Sportster Double Run Eight 8mm Movie Camera is a must-have for any movie camera collector. This Filmo model camera would be a beautiful addition to any vintage camera collection. It was made in the United States, adding to its value. This camera belonged to my grandfather who was an avid photographer. He was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and used this camera to take movies of his extensive travels throughout the northeast United States and Canada. It was passed down through the family and I have had it on display for the past 30 years. I do not know the functionality of the camera but do know that when it is wound up and the engage button is pressed it makes that faint familiar clicking noise that was prevalent with these old movie cameras. The adjustment dial for frames, film speed, etc. moves freely. It comes with the leather case also. The back of the case has lost its stiching (see pic) but when closed the buckle still holds the camera securely. The camera weighs approximately 1.9 pounds and the measurements can be seen in the attached pictures. This is a great 80-90 year old piece of photography (home movie making) history. I have attached twelve pictures of the camera inside and out. It looks very clean and is heavy and solid. Whether you're a collector or a filmmaker, this Bell & Howell camera is a must-have.
