Description: Unique hand painted Mid Century chalk ware piggy bank signed and dated, AP 1949. This was a piggy bank that was a prize from a carnival back around 1950. Hand painted in blue and cream, nicely faded into each other with a red accent belly and sweet smile. There is no bottom and would have had to been shaken upside down to get money out, or broken some way. Think of the old cartoons when the kid would break the piggy bank to open it. If you, like I, never knew why they did that when there’s a stop to open at the bottom, this is why. That wasn’t always something they had. Please see photos for condition. It has wear and some chips and paint loss in areas but still whole and working condition, though probably better for display as you cant open it for easy reuse later. Measurements are roughly: 14.5” tall 8.5” wide Ships fast and with care.
