Description: This is an new, unused Victorian Trading Company tea bag holder or tea tidy from the last catalog they sent out, which was full of wonderful Halloween items. There are no tags on this but it did not have them when it was sent; it is unboxed since any original box is not around anymore. I believe the photos show the item's new condition well; in particular, see the the lack of shelf wear on the bottom which demonstrates lack of prior use. There are no flaws, chips, cracks, etc. This little tea bag holder is made from ceramic or porcelain-I believe it is porcelain since that was typical of the VTC items, but there is no stamp to indicate this-and has a very glossy black finish. On it is written a quote from Shakespeare's "MacBeth", when the three witches are gathered around there cauldron preparing a curse: "Double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble..."; the lettering is in white, which shows up well against the black background. Surrounding the words is a leafy branch going up around the sides from underneath. On back is the VTC logo, also in white lettering. This is a wonderful novelty item and would make an excellent gift for a tea drinker, wise woman, cat lover, Shakespeare lover or for fun at Halloween.
