Very rare LEATHER photo album with 100+ Original photos of Europe 1920's SUPERB

Description: Up for your consideration is a wonderful and quite rare collection of a 1920's family European Vacation. Circa 1920's This wonderful embossed leather photo album speaks of a long forgotten time---and the antique photographs narrate those contemporary moments in time, mood, and subject. A few shots of ocean liners, Venice, Naples, Milano, Suisse & Weggis Switzerland, Mt Vesuvius Italy and so many other various subjects and European locations the owner's traveled. This album is a wonderful and extremely rare piece of Americana and what a fantastic piece of history. The album's approximate size is 11" x 8, with 24 pages with a thin sheet of what appears to be rice paper between each page to protect the photos. It includes a combination of 126 original photographs with 117 post-cards. The 117 commercially marketed photographs are crisp black and white. The photographs (taken by the travelers themselves) are also black and white however given the age some appear a bit discolored around the outer edge and some lean towards a sepia. Each page is full or nearly full in this album. Note: There are some loose photos which have come lose from their corner tabs. Not very many but I wanted to mention this for accuracy. I have tried to take a wide variety of photos so you can get an idea of what a superb collection this is. There are shots of St Peter's Square & Basilica, The Pieta of Michelangelo, The Cloister of St. Paul. Ponte Sant'Angelo Bridge just to name a few. So, so much history inside this wonderful album. There are also many shots of the family who took this vacation. Photos of local people strolling along in different towns and locations. They captured Europe as well as any family vacationer could hope to do. As stated before, this wonderful album comes with 126 original photos and 117 post cards.All photos have hand written information on the back. Each post card is also printed on the back the location of the subject matter on the front. For you history buffs...there's something about looking through an object left by a living soul who traveled to distant lands and brought back visuals to mark that journey they had in life. Over A century has passed since this album was put together and times have changed drastically. As I gently and very carefully went through the pages of this fantastic piece of history, I was reminded of a much simpler time when we all still had hopes and dreams for a better future".
