USMC 3d Bn/4th Mar round sew-on PATCH 3/4 Thundering ! 3rd Battalion/4th Marines

Description: Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts! Check out this fine example of a sew-on unit logo patch for the Third Battalion, Fourth Marines. These can't be found just anywhere! Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items. 3d Bn, 4th Marines has a long, distinguished list of battle honors, including WWII and Vietnam. Unit doesn’t show up in the order of battle for Desert Storm – which probably just means they were either gearing up or winding down from a MEU deployment at the time. Traditionally part of the 3rd Marine Division, but now they are based at 29 Palms, California. Unit known as: THUNDERING THIRD Recent Decades: This unit was on part of the initial invasion of Operation Iraqi Freedom! I’m told they were the first to roll into Baghdad, and are the ones who took down the statue of Saddam Hussein. In 2004 they were back in Iraq for OIF II, serving with I MEF in the Western Iraq area, and in 2005 they were back yet again for OIF III! This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch. It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item! Fully embroidered with merrowed edge and plastic heat sealed backing (as shown in 2nd photo.) Colors are clean and bright.
