Description: Full Title: The Life of Michelangelo Buonarroti: Based on studies in the archives of the Buonarroti family at Florence (Volume II only) Condition Continued: Same with the illustration pages which are on semi-glossy paper. That didn't create any foxing on either the illustration pages or the facing text pages. The only foxing is on the blank front end papers and half-title page, and a tiny bit on one of the blank rear end papers. The frontispiece is in excellent condition, protected by a tissue guard which is also in excellent condition. There's not much by way of creasing, an occasional bit of crinkling. I didn't see any placeholder creases. There are no markings. There is no writing anywhere in the book. There is one small bookplate on the second front end paper. Within its design is the printed name of a Louise De Forest Shelton. Googling her, I found a reference to a poem she had written that was part of a publication titled Three Poems to Eleanora Duse (published by Editura Muzicală). There are no other attachments to be found anywhere in the book. John. C. Nimmo, London, 1899. Hardcover. Stated Third Edition. Volume II only of a two-volume set. 'With Portrait and Fifty Reproductions of the Works of the Master.' The List of Illustrations references and describes seventeen illustrations, so the other thirty-three must be in Volume I. There are three foldouts Tables, one a 'Pedigree of the Buonarroti Simoni Family', one of 'The Medici of Florence', and one of 'The Della Rovere Family'. There are also a number of Appendixes, and a long Index, and a 'Special Index to some of Michelangelo's Works.'
