Description: Staffordshire Bisham Abbey Serving Bowl Oval vegetable featuring wonderful fishscale handles. Oxburgh Hall is a moated Tudor manor house built of brick in 1482 by the Bedingfield family, who still live there but open it to the public. Visited by King Henry VII but the family were Catholics and, during Henry VIII's reign, they fell out of favour. The hall contains a secret 'Priest's Hole' made as a hiding place for an illegal priest. Impressed Davenport Anchor Mark. Circa 1820. This is part of a large service, all in very good condition.
