Description: For sale is Smokey Robinson and The Miracles 1957/1972, a live album originally released in 1972 by Tamla Records, a division of Motown Records, as a double album set with a gate-fold presentation. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks are the matrix numbers A-2/A-1/A-1/A-1, indicating that the first stampers were used to make these first editions, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this record used, professionally cleaned them on my VPI HW-17 machine, then put the albums into two MFSL archival inner sleeves. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There are no original inner sleeves with this listing. The cover is graded as Good because of ring wear, corner blunts, edge rubs and seam splits on the front and back covers. The front cover has a 3" seam split at the top and a 1" seam split on its bottom. The back cover has a 4" seam split on the bottom and a 1 1/2" seam split at its top. The spine has color loss at the corners and along its edges. The vinyl is visually graded as VG because of sleeve marks and surface scratches. I'm play grading this between G+ and VG because of pops and ticking, along with surface noise that doesn't over power the music. This is still a very listenable album and would make a welcome addition to anyone's collection. I have more Motown records, as well as albums of all different genres, listed in my Ebay store. Please take a look. They're predominately Near Mint. Thank you for viewing my listing. I've been collecting records for about 50 years now and have always cleaned them and put them away carefully in plastic inner sleeves. Over the years I've used Dust Bugs, Disc Washers and have finally invested in a professional VPI record cleaning machine. Now that I'm retiring, I'm selling my very esoteric collection. I'm not a professional grader of records, but will use record guides, as well as my personal experiences as a basis of my grading all records. Since grading is subjective, I will be conservative. I offer discounts for multiple sales. Photos are of the actual item for sale, not a stock photo. Please review all descriptions and photos because I do not accept returns. Thank you for looking!
