A rare and collectable piece, beautifully crafted from the highest quality lead-free Pewter! Part of “The Hobbit” and “The Lord Of The Rings” Pewter Collection by Royal Selangor and Graeme Anthony, which originally launched in 1996, with the Sculptors Dream official worldwide release in 2001. 🔎 Now Sold Out, Discontinued and Retired from Royal Selangor production back in the early 2000’s… So these will never be made again and will only increase in value over time, as they become harder and harder to find!! 🔎 This Goblet has been Hand Signed in person, by Graeme Anthony himself! Hand Engraved with Graeme’s autograph! (as well as bearing the copyright stamp of his initials, the year of the design, the production year, and the name of the goblet inscribed in Hobbit runes... these inscriptions are just stamped onto the bases of all the goblets made as part of the casting/manufacturing process, and are not hand-engraved. A lot of sellers mistakenly advertise this as being ‘hand-signed and dated’ by the artist, which in actual fact it is not) Unlike this goblet.. which has actually been hand-engraved and signed, in person, by Graeme Anthony, making this particular goblet even rarer, highly sought after and more valuable! 🔎 This goblet has never been displayed or used. It has been stored in its box since I purchased it upon release, only ever being removed from the box for inspection, for Graeme to sign it, and for taking these photos. 🔎 It’s in excellent, as-new and unused condition, without any damage, dints, scratches or flaws. Includes the original Royal Selangor Box with product info card, which is also in excellent condition and not damaged. DESCRIPTION: 🔺Royal Selangor ‘Lord of the Rings’ “ARAGORN OF ARATHORN” - “2nd EDITION/VERSION 1” SOLID PEWTER GOBLET - 272580 - Height: 20.5cm HAND SIGNED - Graeme Anthony has hand-engraved the base of this goblet, in person, with his full autograph. This goblet is version 1 of the 2nd edition of Aragorn, and this is the younger looking Aragorn. Based on the theory that because he had Elven blood in his ancestry, he would be almost ageless at this age. Aragorn wears the ancient Silver Crown of Eärnur. Played here by a nephrite jade cabochon, the gem Elessar sits in an eagle-shaped mount, clasping the collar of his robe which tapers into an elegant stem. The solemnity of the Heir of Isildur’s expression befits the occasion of his coronation. **In Version 2 of the 2nd Edition, (the King Elessar Limited Edition Tour Goblet) his age was about 120 and he had lived as a ranger, outdoors, in the forests for a time, therefore he would have a much more weathered face. *And the 1st Edition of Aragorn was the original Aragorn goblet, called “Aragorn of Arathorn” or just simply, ‘Strider’ Aragorn II, the son of Arathorn II and Gilraen, also known as Elessar and Strider, was the 16th Chieftain of the Dúnedain of the North; later crowned King Elessar Telcontar, the 26th King of Arnor and 35th King of Gondor - and first High King of Gondor and Arnor since the short reign of Isildur. He was a great ranger and warrior, and as Isildur's heir he bore the shards of Narsil, reforged and renamed Andúril, in the War of the Ring.
