Description: A Jan Felkl Lunarium Tellurium 22” long by 17” tall marked "DIE ERDE / J. FELKL & SOHN / Rostok b. Prag" (some of marking is illegible from wear) late 19th century with a 3 inch diameter globe. Everything is original with the exception of the brass concave reflector which is a reproduction. The zodiac printed around the candle has some tears and wear as shown in photos. There is some discoloration to paper on globe and is difficult to read/make out some boundaries and text as shown in photos. A lunarium ( sometimes also known as a tellurium) is a model that shows the movement of the earth and moon around the sun. When turning the handle, inticrate gearing allows the moon ball to rotate around the earth and the earth to rotate around the sun. The sun is represented by a candle placed in front of the brass concave reflector. This Tellurium stands on a cast iron base. It is in working condition. Please examine photos closely for details and condition. Shipped, packaged and insured by UPS.
