Description: This is a pre-war, or possibly a during war production. During the war the logo stamp was rushed and is generally less crisp than pre-war. After the war in 1945, they changed the logo to the font letters "FN" which is why you see those on ebay for cheaper than these old ones. RARE MAGAZINE VARIANT: as noted in Anthony Vanderlinden's excellent book, "FN Browning Pistols" about the production and markings of FN 1922 magazines. There are some rare variants that include the "stretched oval" as seen in this specimen. The oval is wider than typically found, and seldom seen. This also has the WaA 160 stamp on the top of the rear spine. SKU: 4
