The Mexican Revolutionary war was a major armed struggle 1910-1920 that radically transformed Mexican politics and society. This war is of particular interest to numismatists (coin collectors) because it sparked many local mints into action. The bronze five centavos were replaced by smaller copper-nickel coin 1936-42. Many of the dates of this type struck during or after the Revolution are scarce to rare. The bronze five centavos was demonetized in 1936 and withdrawn in 1937. Coin grading is very subjective, because grading is based on an average of the actual staff doing the grading. Therefore, this coin is not certified, but using the standard identified in the Red Book for US Coins I believe this coin is at least AU+ or better. Nice raised edging. Please look at the scan and grade the coin for yourself as this is the actual coin you will receive. I believe the coin has excellent patina.
