Description: This is a custom 11-12" figure of fictional western TV character, Quint Asper from the tv show "Gunsmoke". Gunsmoke was one of the longest running television shows in history with a 20 year run from 1955 through 1975 on CBS. Burt Reynolds played the role of Quint Asper appearing on the series 1962-65. Quint had a white father and a Comanche mother. His father was killed by white scavengers and Quint seeks revenge. This activity brings Quint into contact with Marshal Matt Dillon (played by James Arness). Matt realizes the truth and aids Quint in him getting away from a posse. Asper ends up in Dodge City where he finds work as the blacksmith. He becomes friends with Matt, Miss Kitty (owner of the Long Branch saloon) (Amanda Blake), Doc Adams (Milburn Stone), Chester Goode (Dennis Weaver) and later Festus Haggen (Ken Curtis) when he becomes a series regular in Dodge City. Quint, an expert tracker would sometimes aide Matt when he was on the trail of desperados. There were a handful of different bartenders throughout the years but the most remembered bartender was Sam (Glenn Strange). There were a lot of interesting characters that passed through Dodge from time to time. From gamblers, gunfighters, cowboys, saloon gals, farmers, ranchers, and the like there was never a dull moment in Dodge City. This was one of the coolest shows on tv when it was on. you can sometimes find this series on dvd or channels that run old westerns or tv series. While this figure does not look exactly like the character or the actor, there is a bit of a resemblance. this figure displays well. sold as is. this item is designed for display and not play for the old west or tv fan.
