Description: Offered here is a Parasound Zdac v.2 digital to analog converter (DAC). This unit is midsized and is 8.5" wide, 10" deep and 2" high. This unit is first and fore most a digital to analog converter that uses an Analog Devices AD1853 24-bit/192kHz IC. To reduce jitter, all inputs are re-clocked and up sampled to 422kHz / 24 bit. Sample rate conversion is asynchronous for all inputs including USB. The digital inputs on this DAC consist of coaxial, optical(toslink) and USB, outputs consist of RCA and Balanced XLR. A switch on the back of the unit for fixed or variable output allows the DAC to be used as a simple digital preamp. Also on the back is a 12-volt trigger in/out, this allows the unit to turned on or off automatically when connected to an amplifier with a 12 volt trigger out. This DAC also has a high current headphone output with volume control and can drive headphones from 32 to 600 ohms. For great sound this unit has a linear power supply with toroidal power transformer. If you spin the silver disc, this DAC has gapless playback. The original power cord and owner's manual is included. Picture 6 is a stock picture from the internet showing the inside of the DAC. This unit is used. I purchased the DAC new (not refurbished) in 2021, it has had only one owner, me. The DAC has never been repaired or modified and has not been exposed to fire, smoke, power surges, dropped, mishandled or submerged in water.
