Description: painting approximately 12" x 16" About the Artist: A native of Fredonia, New York, and current resident of Greenville, South Carolina, Grace Scherer received her Bachelor of Fine Art from Syracuse University. She works in watercolor and oils. As an instructor, she has taught art in public and private schools, as well as in watercolor workshops and private lessons. She founded the Western Maryland Watercolor Society and managed her own Gallery 128 in Cumberland, Maryland. Her paintings can be found in private and public collections across the US and abroad and has won numerous awards for her artwork in local and national shows. Artist Statement: Every painting expresses to the viewer the personal feeling of the artist toward the subject. Like a signature, this expression is made individual by the use of line, shapes, stroke and color. Inspiration for my paintings come from the beauty of God’s creation and the contrasting refuge of man’s existence. The deteriorating structures of man contrast beautifully with the natural reclamation of this structure by the elements. The possibilities are endless.
