Description: Original 1976-1986 plaque from the USMC 27th Wing Transportation Squadron, WTS-27. This unit was part of MWSG-27, Marine Wing Support Group 27, based at MCAS Cherry Point with detachments at MCAS New River and MCAS Beaufort. The wood back is in great condition. The front is a translucent material, plastic or maybe epoxy, and does have a crack on one side but is stable. The plaque is still firmly held together in one piece. The crack is shown in the photos. The squadron insignia looks like it may be an older paper decal behind the clear sheet material. Photographed in natural daylight. Photos may not accurately represent actual colors.
