Description: This is a rare and unique piece of history from the legendary Cavern Club of the 1960s. The item is an original carpet from the club, with a one-of-a-kind autograph from Pete Best, the original drummer of The Beatles. This item is a must-have for any collector of music memorabilia, especially those who are fans of The Beatles. The authenticity of the item is undeniable and will make an excellent addition to any collection. Don't miss out on this opportunity to own a piece of Rock and Roll history. Original piece of the 1960’s Cavern Club carpet and also a Pete Best signed autograph. The carpet measures 1“ x 2 1/2“. This remnant and a few others were saved and the very few that were sold in the mid 80s was by Eddie Porter, Beatles tour guide. Eddie at the time was associated with Cavern city tours who now owns the current Cavern Club, since the 80’s. Eddie explained he was at the right place at the right time when the original club was being stripped . The site was being leveled in order to make room for a ventilation shaft for a underground railway expansion. This expansion was cancelled. Sad to say, the club was torn down and a famous landmark was lost to us.? Other item: The card was signed in 1985 when Pete had a special audience with the American fans who travelled to England for Beatles week and convention. The signed card measures 4 1/2 x 6“ If I’m reading it correctly, Pete Best signed it, “up to cavern best wishes.”
