However I personally feel this is better than newer version for several reason: 1) It comes with detachable day pack for smaller excursions, eliminating need for 2 packs and also is great if set up camp for night you have smaller separate interior pack you can take out if you are needing gather food or firewood etc without taking full pack. 2) Rain fly included (New version rain fly is sold separately). 3) Sturdier back & construction. (Where as newer version uses velcro adjustments that where-out over time). 4) Universal hydration clips attachments which is great (where new version has proprietary "Gregory Only Hydration pack" attaching method meaning you have to buy Gregory Hydration Bladder.) 5) This Model is also a lot lighter in weight then new version. 6) This model has superior build materials compared to newer version.
