Description: Lot of two beauty pageant postcards with postmarks from the towns where the events took place. Card #1. Shows the Miss Universe parade in Long Beach, California and it has a 1959 Long Beach, California postmark. The girls are wearing swimsuits and riding motorized floats on the parade route. This card has a great message which is a first hand account: “Miss Japan won the Miss Universe”…“Saw the parade from my window, they came by on Ocean Blvd.” Card #2. Shows the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City and it has a 1965 Atlantic City, New Jersey postmark. Both are in excellent condition. These post cards will come to you in clear acid-free soft sleeves which allows you to handle and/or store each card while protecting them. These postcards each measure 5 1/2" X 3 1/2".
