Rare medium sized case, impossible to find it nowadays. A brushed stainless steel case with a mirror polished top bezel, screw-on crown and a slightly convex mineral crystal glass will safeguard your timepiece for many years to come. The classic white dial with a sun-ray pattern that features a raised stainless steel Mercedes Benz logo star at 12 o'clock, second time zone (GMT) sub-dial, day/sun-night/moon indicator, small sub-dial for seconds and the ,,open heart" to see the movement, makes this Mercedes Benz automatic watch an eye catcher. The superimposed stainless steel hour markers, makes the time reading very easy. Luminous hour and minute hands and hour markers (see picture 12). The glass bottom allows you to admire the <>, a fine Japan made self winding movement which incorporates no fewer than 22 Jewels and has a power reserve of 30 hours. The stainless steel back with glass bottom, which is water resistant to 10 ATM and a fine Havana brown leather band secures the watch on your wrist. Stainless steel buckle. ATTENTION !!! "GMT" stands for Greenwich Mean Time and is the "0" point on the 24 hour scale of international timezones. Greenwich is in England, and from there other time zones are plus (+) or minus (-) GMT. GMT was established so that travelers would be able to quickly to know what time it is all over the world as long as they knew what the GMT time was and what to add or subtract from that time to get the local time on another place. GMT watches were developed mostly for aviation purposes and include both the "local" and "GMT" time. Though in reality GMT watches tend to be used in different ways than their original purpose of knowing the local time and GMT only. By the way, GMT is also know as "UTC" (especially in some German watches). It is also worth noting that there are watches with a GMT label that are not true GMT watches. Water Resistance ....a never-ending source of misunderstandings often caused by the irresponsible advertising of certain competitors, who are usually the ones to refuse any responsibility when damage by water occurs. Here are the facts in plain English: 1. Every known brand submits the watch to a 2-phase test in a chamber, where it has to withstand to pressure for the minimum length of time required by industrial standards. It may seem a paradox, but low pressure-resistance, say at 0.5 bar equivalent to 50 cm depth is more critical to achieve, because increasing pressure tends to compress the seals, thereby increasing the resistance; the second phase test conducted at 3 bar (30 m.) is confirmatory. Because of a solid case-construction, the known brands watches will resist to 10 bar (100 m. or 300 ft) and we could confidently call it a «diver’s watch» 2.
