Description: This is an autographed South Atlantic League baseball signed by Mariano Rivera shortly after a game between the Greensboro Hornets (now Grasshoppers) and West Virginia Wheelers on June 15, 1991. This ball has a fun story: this was when Rivera was a young starting pitcher in the Yankees farm system. This was the best start of his career to that point, pitching into the ninth and just missing his first career shutout. This was a foul ball retrieved from the roof of War Memorial Stadium and given to me, after which my dad got Rivera to sign it as he was leaving at the end of the game. This ball has been in our possession ever since, with the signature having recently been authenticated by Beckett.
