Description: LOBMYER TUMBLER WITH GILT INITIALS This stunning glass was made in Austria, probably in the early years of the 20th. It carries the Lobmyer trademark as can be seen in the photograph of the base. Hand blown and of superb quality. The central section is hollow and is completely separate from the bowl above with cut sides. The highest standard of workmanship was required to make the glass and particularly to paint the gilt initials with the shadowing is amazing as they are absolutely outstanding. The letters are either "EvH" or "HvE", most likely the latter as the E is taller than the H. The small "v" could be for "von", which would point to the original owner being a titled family. There are a number of gilt rings around the foot and body and some of the gilding has been worn away. A terrific glass in good condition. It is 15.4 cm tall with a capacity of 150 ml.
