All the Lionel Learning Curve train sets are compatible with Thomas, Ikea, Brio and all other wooden sets that have standard 1" wheelbases.The "Big Boy" engine has been tested and works great. It operates on 2 standard "AA" size batteries (no batteries are included). The trains engine is in very good to excellent condition with typical but minor signs of use no paint chips or scratches. Both rear rubber traction treads are intact.
