Description: A large iron padlock with the incised brass drop that still swings excavated from a Civil War winter camp in Fredericksburg, Virginia. These type locks, imported from England, pre date the Civil War but were still in use through out. A larger lock it was probably used with supply wagons or on a railroad car. The artifact comes as shown. It measures 5 3/8” x 3 ½”. Cleaned and treated. All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original as stated. A hand signed and dated “Certificate of Authenticity” will be issued by Collectors Frame with a photograph and description of the items purchased.
