Description: Very unique piece. One of the ladies I get jewelry from does a lot of traveling, Hawaii, Africa, etc this looks like a hand made piece of natural beads, nuts? It is 19 inches with a barrel clasp closure. I am not sure what it is made of but appears that the large beads are natural with a urethane coating it has tiny imperfections and semi flat areas and with a magnifying glass looks almost orange peel texture but hard to see. The bead is a little heavy so I originally thought ceramic or a heavy wood, it has a think casing outside and hollow inside from what I can see. The big one has 2 holes for beading on one side and one hole on the other side. The black beads could be pukka but feel more like wood, I know some of these can be made from nuts, my guess is a nut base. White beads are glossy but more like a shell chalky texture inside, a couple have an irregular indentation and one has a tiny chipped area that is not glossy. there are small almost circular red lines on several of the white beads that look natural to the beads and not man made. It is a really interesting piece and I wish I had the history of where it originated. If anyone has seen these before I would appreciate learning more. It is very unique.
