Description: Vintage JOVANI New York gold goddess evening gown, adorned with hand-beaded and jeweled detail, with a stunning Fortuny-pleated long skirt. About a size 8 (missing the size label, for best fit, please see measurements below, especially the 30-inch empire waist at the bra-line.) Fully lined with a silky olive green fabric, the stunning gown features a sweetheart neckline, beaded and bejeweled mesh sleeves that are slightly off shoulder, an inner cupped bra (between a B and C, I would say,) a defined empire waist band in cross-hatched gold braided cord, also adorned with beaded and jeweled detail, and the stretchy gold metallic plissé pleated skirt--with a silhouette that shows off the curves--reminiscent of the Fortuny pleats of Mary McFadden dresses. The gown has a hidden back zip closure with 2 sets of hooks and eyes at the bust line. NOTE: The gown is missing the labels for size, fabric content, place of manufacture and care--thus, I am using comparable gowns to guess that the gown is mostly polyester, dry cleanable, and made in China. There are a few small, unnoticeable snags in the pleated fabric and a minute fraying of the gold cord braid on top of the right sleeve shoulder (see photos.) These minor flaws do not detract from the overall beauty and integrity of the piece; the gown is in excellent pre-owned, vintage condition, showing little wear.
