Literal translation of this badge from Japanese 野戦砲兵照準徽章 is actually Field Artillery Gun Sight Badge. This design with the open gun chamber was introduced in 1912 to replace the silver/gold color scheme of the earlier badge. This bronze color grade was used between 1913 but before March 1930, when the canon design got changed yet again to reflect new artillery training guidelines announced in December 1929.　Latch eye is broken.
