Cosmopolitodus planus was a large white shark, often called a mako, whose taxonomy has been the subject of extensive debate. At various times, it was classified into the genera Oxyrhina, Isurus (True Makos), and finally Cosmopolitodus where it remains for now. It is commonly known as the Hooked-Tooth Mako and the Hooked Mako due to all of its teeth being hooked. It was estimated to have been around the size of Modern White Sharks.
