Description: HMF Exhaust Muffler Quiet Core Insert -Fitment (HMF Mufflers Only <-------- New and Improved Model- 5" Long Sold Individually Screen Not included - see photo (Fitment for All HMF Exhaust Pipes, please note: recommended that you use the HMF USFS spark arrester at the same time. ) The HMF Quiet Core Is an Insert Made of 1010 Steel and Installs on Most HMF Exhausts in Seconds. It Is Designed for Sound-Sensitive Riding Areas and Decreases the Sound Level Approximately 3-6 dBs. The Quiet Core Will NOT Work With HMF Ecosystem or Quiet Race Series Exhausts Because These Models Have Mechanical Cores With No Room to Fit the Quiet Core Into the Exhaust You CANNOT Use the Torque Range Modifier at the Same Time as the Quiet Core - Only One Can Occupy the Exhaust Space HMF Mufflers Only Every HMF exhaust comes with a U.S.F.S. Spark Arrestor uninstalled. The installation process for the Spark Arrestor is the same for the Quiet Core and should only take a few minutes to complete. Installation Instructions: 1. Don't attempt to remove the End Cap if the exhaust is hot. 2. Remove the 3 allen screws that hold the End Cap. 3. Remove the End Cap. 4. Place the Quiet Core/Spark Arrestor in the outlet. (There is a machined lip for it to fit into) See Figure 1 5. Replace the End Cap. See Figure 2 6. Tighten the 3 allen screws and you are done. Maintenance: Check your spark arrestor screen from time to time to see that it is free flowing and not clogged. The easiest way to clean the spark arrestor is to remove it from the exhaust then soak the spark arrestor in oven cleaner. Wait for a few minutes, then clean the remaining residue with a wire brush.
