EISENHOWER FOR PRESIDENT AND SENATOR RICHARD NIXON FOR VICE PRESIDENT Former President Hoover specifically references his significant endorsement speech given on the nationwide radio and television broadcast on October 18, 1952, reads in part: “I believe General Eisenhower and the Republican ticket should be elected. I am convinced that the fate of our country in these confused and perilous times hang upon a change in the Administration in Washington…the party behind such great men as General Eisenhower and Senator Nixon is a constructive party of probity, courage, ideals, and vision, worthy to be entrusted with the administration of our country.” Hoover’s address is considered one of the greatest political speeches of the mid-19th century that convinced voters to cast in favor of the Republican ticket, brought about a resurgence in the Republican Party, and was widely printed and published. “I THOUGHT YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN AN ADVANCE RELEASE OF THE SPEECH I HAVE BEEN ASKED BY GENERAL EISENHOWER TO MAKE ON SATURDAY EVENING, OCTOBER 18.” Sent to The San Francisco Chronicle journalist Paul C.
