Description: Beautiful Griswold No. 8 Pattern Number 704, Large Block Logo Smooth Bottom Cast Iron Skillet. Made in Erie, Pennsylvania by the Griswold Manufacturing Company from 1930-1939. CONDITION: Skillet is in very good vintage condition. It has a small wobble at the 3 o'clock position corrected 1 index card on a hard smooth granite surface. Cooking surface is smooth and in good condition with only general wear from use. There is one very minimal portion of micropitting confined to about 2.5 inches on the tip of the rim. This will quickly fill in with seasoning with use. Lines on Logo are crisp and clear. Skillet does not spin, has no cracks, chips, rust, or repairs. Please see photos as part of description. ~Disclaimer: All vintage and antique cast iron typically shows some signs of wear including light utensil marks, discoloration, and minor pitting. RESTORATION: This vintage piece of cast iron has been fully restored and carefully cleaned to bare iron using a combination of electrolysis, lye, and vinegar. It has been seasoned with 3 layers of grape seed oil at 450 degrees for a deep, beautiful, patina finish.
