Description: Greek drama from Euripides : this collection , ' EURIPEDES V ' was first published in this series in 1959 and this book is the third impression from 1962. It includes 3 of his 17 extant and surviving works (out of 92 , the missing 75 having been destroyed by successive attacks by Christian & Moslem zealots who , along with Julius Caesar who burned the scrolls for a solid month in the Great Library in Alexandria , Egypt , JUST TO LIGHT HIS BATH WATERS !!! Grrrr , they shoulda made him eat some scrolls before they whacked him !!! Especially since how he gave THE IDIOT , Adolph Hitler ideas too ...) However , in this volume the included plays are in order as follows : ELECTRA , THE PHOENICIAN WOMEN , & THE BACCHAE. Book is almost new , and although second hand , it was most likely never read before & shows only minimal handling wear or use. Spine has no crease marks and is still fresh (see photos) ; binding is still " like new " as it holds all pages well , which pages appear crisp & clean with no underlining.
