Goodell Pratt gasket washer cutter for brace & 11 NOS Millers Falls repl blades

Description: You are bidding on two Goodell-Pratt Number 82 gasket or washer cutters, with one incomplete, and 12 NOS replacement blades for them (1 blade doesn't match the others) in a Millers Falls envelope, all as pictured. Please keep reading down to the description and condition paragraphs.Included are:--- one gasket cutter marked "G-P-CO MADE IN USA" that had both of the blade holders with blades in each one. It has the square tapered end to fit into a brace or breast drill, and had a removable point on the opposite end. Width of the horizontal beam is about 6-3/8", and it is graduated. The blade holders can be set at the same setting for making round gaskets, or at different setting for making washers with a center hole. --- a virtually identical gasket cutter with the same markings but in smaller lettering, and it only has one blade holder. I don't have the other blade holder.--- twelve NOS or New Old Stock replacement blades. They are all the same dimensions, but 11 of them have a countersunk hole on one side, and the 12th does not have a countersunk hole. Look closely at the end blade in the 3rd and 5th pictures. --- and the paper envelope for the replacement blades, which is marked in part with "GENUINE REPLACEMENT PARTS QUANTITY 12 PART No 15738-H" and "MILLERS FALLS COMPANY 57 WELLS STREET, GREENFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS". The quantity and part number are hand written on the envelope as can be seen. These will fit the Millers Falls Number 82 cutter, and will fit the Goodell Pratt Number 82 cutter. They will NOT fit the Goodell Pratt Number 41 cutter, as that cutter uses blades with round shafts.The 3 blades in the Goodell Pratt cutters are not countersinked, but the countersinked blades would function perfectly in them. Condition of the two cutters is good, other than one only has one blade holder as noted, and both have some patina (color) and light rust, with almost no pitting. The screwdriver slots for the large screws that adjust the blocks are very good, while the screwdriver slots on the little screws that secure the blades are worn. Condition of the 12 replacement cutters is very good, with some grease or cosmoline on them, and none show any signs of wear or use. But the sharp edges aren't very sharp and will want a light sharpening. The finish grinding of them was rather poor. Condition of the envelope is good, other than some stains and wear, and part of the metal clasp on the back side is broken off. The winner gets both cutters, all 12 replacement blades, and the envelope. SHIPPING: Over 1 pound when boxed, shipped USPS Ground Advantage which is slower but less expensive, insurance is included. The Post Office now has several prices increases during each year, raising a few things but not everything at each increase. And they now raise their rates during the Holidays, which means early October to late January. Their big increases are in January, timed to start at the end of the Holiday rates, and this year is no exception. And it's not just the postage rates, the insurance charges and the delivery signature charges have also gone up. There is now a surcharge for Priority Mail packages over 20" long, and another for Priority Mail packages over 30" long, because those longer packages won't fit in their automatic machines. And the Post Office has discontinued the Regional Flat Rate boxes, which were often less expensive for certain sizes and weights. I try to pick the best shipping option for each listing, based both on what is the least expensive and on what I think is needed to protect the item. If the value is $250 or over, eBay requires your signature at delivery for the buyer and seller protections to be in effect.SALES TAX: Interstate sales tax is now the reality on all the major selling websites including eBay. If I ship to a state where eBay is required to collect sales tax, eBay will charge you the sales tax for your location.
