Description: Selling today is this Nice Post World War One Inflation Stamp from GERMANY. This is from the Hyper Inflationary Madness of the early 1920's, where prices changed DAILY, and sometimes by the HOUR. The Stamp is for 30 Marks, and is Overstamped to 8 THOUSAND Marks. It appears to have glue on the reverse - unused??? Research shows this stamp was issued in the Summer of 1923. As you probably know, all German Stamps were issued in Pfennigs prior to World War One. As the Hyper inflation set in, the amounts turned to Marks! This madness ended in December of 1923 for the Weimar Republic, and Stamps were newly issued in Pfennigs. The real madness was the printing of MONEY - GERMAN Banknotes, which reached the BILLIONS of Marks to buy a loaf of Bread before it was over!!!!!! Please bid from the photos!Lots of examples of the Inflation Money exist, but not that many stamps!!! More original Great items to be listed soon!!!
